We optimize product design and manufacturability, minimize expenses, and improve time to market. It’s pretty easy to find a company to help you with a single part of your design process – there is no shortage of design firms, prototyping services, testing labs, and contract manufacturers.
All of these services are available in-house and under one roof. We believe we can add the most value to your project by being involved in the process from the very beginning, but would be happy to work with you at any point during your design process to keep your project on time and on budget.
Some of our most significant client relationships have developed from a simple project. As clients became more familiar with our capabilities, and we earned more responsibility, they realized the value of involving us in all phases of their process.
Do you have a product that must comply with specified regulations? No problem. We design controls that meet FDA and UL/CSA, Military, and CE requirements. What happens when the regulations change? We have a number of clients for whom we routinely re-engineer controls to keep them compliant with regulations.
Here are some examples of how we have helped clients by working with them at various points of their design process:
Idea: While many companies will not begin the process without a paid Non-Recurring Engineering quote (NRE), we routinely investigate, discover, analyze, suggest, and review the system or product before providing an NRE. At this point we fully understand the objective, and determine which of our talented engineers to assign to the project.
Product Concept: Once we understand your idea, we will suggest input/output characteristics and dimensions for the design. We have a deep library of solutions, and on many occasions we will suggest one of our standard products to be used as a base. This reduces development cost, improves manufacturability, and speeds time-to-market.
Design: This phase begins when we and our client execute an NRE. Then we perform mechanical, electrical, software, and test engineering, which leads to a formal design. We manufacture controls in-house, so all of our designs are created with manufacturability and reduced time-to-market in mind.
Prototype: Upon design approval, and our receipt of a PO, the full prototype build is completed on-site in our Chanhassen, MN facility. The prototype is then sent to our client for further analysis, testing, and approval.
Test: We use Labview/National Instruments test equipment and software. We also have the capability to simulate our customers’ product architectures and employ full-scale testing in our facility.
Manufacture: Once the prototype has been fully analyzed and tested by our engineers, and approved by our client, we move to manufacturing. We have the in-house capability to manufacture your product to meet your needs.
Support: Our staff is located in Minnesota, so support is only a time zone or two away. No need to call the other side of the world to get help.
Once your product has been to market, we have the capability to extend its life with improvements in capability or integration with other equipment. We also have experience creating controls that spawn product line extensions.
